Services

Most of you are familiar with the diagnostic tools we use i.e. a thorough health history, records review, physical exam, diet analysis, lab tests, and various imaging methods. Below is the list of some naturopathic treatment modalities that I use in my practice.

  • Diet adjustments
  • Nutritional supplements
  • Medicinal herbs
  • Homeopathic remedies
  • Acupressure allergy desensitizing
  • Physiotherapy such as ultrasound, diathermy, hydrotherapy
  • Medical massage and spinal manipulation
  • Exercise plans
  • Counseling

I also prescribe and refer for drugs and surgery as indicated.

The Mission

I enjoy helping you with medical problems ranging from acute, simple problems to chronic complex problems. I am known for being thorough both diagnostically and with a range of treatment modalities. Although my priority is to teach you how to prevent health problems, realistically much of my time is spent treating existing problems while inserting preventative measures. I use both naturopathic treatment modalities as well as mainstream medical approaches, whichever is most efficacious for your needs. Health is not a spectator sport; your full participation is encouraged.

My Approach & Values

I can help your body reach its maximum potential.  Your body is made for optimal health and will strive for that state when it is allowed to function freely in its natural environment.  You can restore and re-align your body's natural balance if your body receives the right nutrients that it needs.  Our natural metabolic and enzymatic processes have been developed over thousands of years to function in harmony with the ecology of our planet.  Unfortunately, the current health care and food production systems do not promote this natural harmony.  In fact, they have profoundly disrupted it for most Americans.

For the past thirty years, health care costs have been doubling every five years.  During this time, the health care model in this country has been based on an allopathic, or drug treatment/germ theory of medicine.  This model, with an emphasis on antibiotics and chemical drugs along with non-rotative, intensive chemical agriculture and livestock practices is at the foundation of our current health care cost crisis.  Medical clinics and pharmaceuticals are not providing the answer to this pressing health crisis.

However there is a better way to live.  You can feel better each morning and achieve optimal wellness.  One of the most important things you can do is to get your body the nutrition it needs to live a happy, healthy lifestyle, including over 90 essential nutrients your body requires (but probably doesn't get) each and every day.  Comprehensive laboratory workups can also help address the underlying causes of health concerns.  To aid my patients futher, I have found and recommended several superior quality supplemental product lines available to help you live a long, healthy, and happy life.

Principles of
Naturopathic Medicine

The Healing Power of Nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae)

Naturopathic medicine recognizes an inherent self-healing process in people that is ordered and intelligent. Naturopathic physicians act to identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery, and to facilitate and augment this inherent self-healing process.

Identify and Treat the Causes (Tolle Causam)

The naturopathic physician seeks to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness rather than to merely eliminate or suppress symptoms.

First Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere)

Naturopathic physicians follow three guidelines to avoid harming the patient:

  • Utilize methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects, using the least force necessary to diagnose and treat;
  • Avoid when possible the harmful suppression of symptoms; and
  • Acknowledge, respect, and work with individuals’ self-healing process.

Treat the Whole Person

Naturopathic physicians treat each patient by taking into account individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and other factors. Since total health also includes spiritual health, naturopathic physicians encourage individuals to pursue their personal spiritual development.

Prevention

Naturopathic physicians emphasize the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease, and by making appropriate interventions in partnership with their patients to prevent illness.
